I apologize for slacking so badly on my daily posts that I promised a while ago. I will go ahead and say that the "Project 365" that I had said I would try and keep up with has already been a complete fail! My life right now can easily be described as overbearing, which would absolutely be an understatement. I have 2 midterms, a test, and a rough draft all to be prepared for next week! I have been non stop studying and also trying to get in my meals, laundry, sleep, a teensy amount of relaxation, and whatever else my body has been screaming for.
Last weekend, I went home. I had a GREAT time as always and always fear that Sunday of having to drive the dreadful drive back to hell.
Thursday- Arrived home after my 4 hour ride at around 8:00 and mom had a wonderful meal made of spaghetti, salad, and Texas Toast which is one of my favorite meals! Although, my mouth was watering the minute I walked in the door, I couldn't fir another thing into my stomach after the Mcdonald's that had ruined my excitement for momma's meal. I DID end up squeezing some of that delicious garlic bread down my throat though. DELICIOUS!! Family and I sat and talked-- caught with up my school life and the ups and downs of everything going on lately. Went to bed later on to get enough sleep to get up and go shopping for my new favorite item in which I WILL collect in every color and I am sure of it.
Friday- Mom and Maggie May (my beautiful baby girl) came in at around 11 and woke me up to go on our shopping trip of the day. Got some puppy kisses from Mags before heading to the shower. Got ready and then left to head to the wonderful, unbelievable, my most favorite store EVER..... Abbadabba's!!! I had told mom that I wanted TOMS and they were supposed to be a Christmas gift but I just couldn't decide on what color I wanted.Quite the decision to make huh? When you purchase a pair of TOMS, a pair is also purchased by the company and is donated to children in need. "One for One". So we walk into the store and we looked around at the different colors, tried some on. I picked out a navy blue-striped pair along with the red pair I have always had my eye on. I asked the lady for a size 7 in both and she came out with only one pair that came in a 7 which were the RED ones.. it was a definite sign that those were the ones for me! I absolutely love them and walked out wearing them. They are the most comfortable shoes I have ever had on my feet. You ALL should purchase a pair to experience the comfort I have now become obsessed with. Mom even purchased a gray pair!! Below shows my wonderful red TOMS.
After leaving Abbadabba's, we were in a rush to head over to Woodstock High to watch Chase's first high school baseball scrimmage. I was so unbelievably excited when I heard that Chase was one of the few that made the JV team, and also worked out with the Varsity team one day that same week. He started out by pitching for the 2nd inning and did awesome! He then played shortstop for the rest of the game. He is making his sister very proud!! Can't wait to watch a real game next time I am home!
Saturday- Got ready for a day out with Nini. She is my amazing grandma for those of you who don't know and it's a sorry thing if you don't! Her and I went out to lunch at a place in downtown Woodstock that I had never been before called J.Christopher's. It was delicious. I had a mouth-watering J.Christopher's club sandwich with taters and a sweet tea! Such a yummy lunch we had. We then headed off to a couple cute shops that were across the street. I never knew how much downtown Woodstock had grown until then. I love it there. We drove past some houses that I fell in love with.. drove past a house that had "free information" outside of it so of course I got out and picked one up, curious to see that price of one of these beautiful town homes. Well to my disappointment-- they were up to half a MIL. I guess I could keep dreaming until my dreams come true with my Obstetrician salary one day!! Anywho, after we left we went to the grocery and she was so sweet to buy me some groceries I needed to bring back to school with me! We had such a good, quality day together!! I miss my family so much, it's crazy.
That night, Michael came and got me so we could go over to his house and spend some time with his family. It was nice to catch up with them, considering I never get to see them anymore. They never fail to make me laugh! I'm blessed to pretty much be a part of such amazing people. Michael and I got to spend time together which is always great! I love getting to see him and get squeezed by his wonderful hugs. We miss each other so much and can't wait for summertime so we can spend lots more time together!!
That was my great weekend in a nutshell. It felt so good to be home and I can't wait to spend more time with my favorites in just 2 weeks for a whole WEEK!! Spring Break isn't getting to crazy for me this year.. just some quality time with the people that mean the most! That's all that matters, right?
Yesterday was a big day for me. I am quite indecisive and if you know me, then that is no news to you but I finally figured out what I want to do with my life. I was researching different nursing jobs and was trying to look for exactly what it is that I see myself doing in the future after 76 years of schooling... okay fine, 12 years of schooling. I want to be an Obstetrician!
Obstetrician- is a physician who has successfully completed specialized education and training in the management of pregnancy, labor, and pueperium (the time-period directly following childbirth).
I have decided that since I love handling babies and would love to work with women and guide them throughout their pregnancy, this is the job for me! As I continued to research this career, I also found that the schooling is quite a process but so rewarding in the end. This career is path is also rewarding in the case that the average salary per year is around $233,061. That immediately put a bigger smile on my face and made my decision that much more definite. I do tend to change my major around because I can't make a decision to save my life and there are so many things that I would like to do in the nursing field, but I do believe this is one that just might stick! I am excited to see what happens :)
That is all for now. I promise to be better with keeping my posts up to date instead of slacking off for weeks at a time! Stay tuned--
Haley

You go girl! Rooting for you ALL THE WAY! :)
